This is an AMAZING idea, please write your own list and check out this [link] to a forum where you can see other people's lists and plan what you can do to brighten another person's holiday season! I'm planning on granting as many wishes as possible and so should all of you. It's an easy and relatively inexpensive way to spread the love to other members of the dA community.

STEP ONE

** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA.

** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!


STEP TWO

** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

REMEMBER this is about ways you can help people through what you have. You do not need to blow all your savings on this , it is simply to get that good feeling when you help people out.

1. I wish I had a dA subscription for a few months or so.
2. I wish I had more DVDs because I absolutely love movies, but I'm almost never able to actually buy them.
3. I wish I had a space of my own where I could be surrounded by everything I love.
4. I wish I had more Nightmare Before Christmas memorabilia- anything would do, from a copy of the DVD to old t-shirts to trinkets or jewelry...I want to add to my growing collection because I love that movie so damn much.
5. I wish I had a ton of new books (or book recommendations) and new music to listen to while I read them.
6. I wish I had this coat [link] or a similar black trench coat.
7. I wish I had a pair of Converse in a really cool color- or multiple colors
8. I wish I knew of a place in Vegas where I could horseback ride, Western style.
9. I wish my boyfriend and I could take a trip to NYC, or at least be able to spend more time together.
10. I wish I had more time to spend on the activities and hobbies I love.
BONUS: I wish that at least one of my wishes would come true, and I hope to grant as many wishes for others as possible!

Theme: “Give life to an inanimate object”.

Create a piece of artwork centering around an inanimate object (chair, book, paintbrush, candle, whatever. Just nothing living...food is ok). There may be a background of some sort, but the piece must center upon one object, pair of objects, or group of related objects. The tricky part is that in creating this piece, you must bring life to your chosen inanimate object in some way. I do not want beautiful still lives of fruit in a basket...unless you take that basket of fruit and show it in a completely new and interesting light. Life can mean many things: movement, personality, or perhaps just a different way of portraying/capturing this object. Be creative and experiment! I know this will be a challenge...so the theme is very much open to interpretation. However, if you have any questions or are not sure if your deviation fits the theme, please note me. This contest is open to ALL mediums! (Lit could actually work very, very well...)

1. I've always been able to taste the difference between certain brands of the same food. Like Skippy vs. Peter Pan peanut butter. And Peter Pan is way better.

2. When I was two years old I didn't want to turn three, so at my third birthday party everyone had to sing "Happy da-ay" instead of "Happy birthday".

3. I have really varied tastes in music, from alternative to techno to Broadway showtunes. And I actually like a decent amount of country.

4. I've played the violin for thirteen years. I'm fifteen. The good thing about that is I now have the ability to hear a song once or twice and play it back on the violin.

5. I'm a Jew turned Atheist.

6. I absolutely loathe when people say, "You're Jewish, why do you like Christmas music??"

7. I cry when I laugh a lot. It's embarrassing.

8. My dream life would be one lived in a small New York City apartment, writing all day and acting/singing at night.

9. I LOVE movie trailers.

10. "Moist" has got to be the most awkward word ever.

11. I can make myself get a lazy eye.

12. To the people who say, "Everything uses math", I say, "Writing doesn't..."

13. When I was little I would make up stories everywhere. Even at dinner I would use salt and pepper shakers, candlesticks, and silverware as characters.

14. I went through a really ridiculous emo phase.

15. My biggest fear is not being able to experience everything I want to in life.

16. I've rolled off the top bunk of a bunk bed while sleeping...AND I didn't wake up.

17. I always wear one silver ring on each hand and a heart necklace with charms inside. These all have significance.

18. I think I've changed an incredible amount in the past few years, and I hate when other people make assumptions based on how I used to be.

19. I don't like gum.

20. I love walking places by myself and generally feeling completely independent.

21. I have a Starbucks and Monster energy drink addiction.

22. In my opinion, Thanksgiving is the worst holiday.

23. I think Twilight is the real-world equivalent of Farmville on Facebook.

24. I've always had issues leaving places that I really love.

25. But I absolutely can't wait to go to college (hopefully on the East Coast) and get the hell out of here. XD
